Quick and Easy Chai White Hot Chocolate

Quick and Easy Chai White Hot Chocolate blends steamed milk infused with chai tea and melted white chocolate to create a creamy, spiced beverage. Topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon, this drink combines sweet white chocolate with warming chai spices for a comforting treat. Using a tea bag for infusion keeps the preparation simple and direct.

Description

This drink starts by gently heating milk to a steaming temperature before steeping a chai tea bag to impart the characteristic spicy flavors without bitterness. After steeping, the tea bag is pressed to extract flavor, then removed. White chocolate is stirred in over medium heat until smoothly melted, resulting in a rich, creamy cup of hot chocolate with aromatic chai notes. Optional toppings like whipped cream and a cinnamon sprinkle add extra creaminess and a hint of warmth to the finished drink.

The recipe allows for milk of any fat content and suggests adding heavy cream for a richer texture. It requires minimal ingredients and steps, making it accessible for a quick yet satisfying beverage.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup milk any percentage*
  • 1.5 ounces white chocolate chopped, good-quality
  • 1 Chai tea tea bag
  • Whipped Cream optional for topping
  • ground cinnamon optional for topping

Instructions

  1. Heat milk in a small pot over medium-high heat. Add tea bag (make sure to keep tag away from the burner!). Once milk begins to steam and bubbles start to form, turn heat off.
  2. Let tea bag steep for 2 minutes. Press tea bag between a spoon and the side of the pot to wring any liquid from it and dispose of bag.
  3. Turn heat to medium and stir in white chocolate until melted and drink is smooth.
  4. Transfer to an 8-ounce mug and top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Adding a splash of heavy cream to the milk increases the richness of the drink without overpowering the chai flavor.
  • Remove the tea bag promptly after steeping to avoid over-extraction and bitterness.
  • Whipped cream and cinnamon topping are optional but add an extra layer of flavor and presentation.
