Quick Apple and Cottage Cheese Muffins

Quick Apple and Cottage Cheese Muffins combine whole-wheat flour, sugar, and warm spices with grated apple and tangy cottage cheese to create moist muffins topped with a cinnamon oatmeal crumb. The cottage cheese adds subtle creaminess and protein, balancing the sweetness of apple and brown sugar. These muffins provide a soft texture with a crunchy topping, suitable for breakfast or snack.

Description

This muffin recipe uses whole-wheat flour mixed with baking powder, baking soda, and salt to form the dry base. Wet ingredients include cottage cheese, grated apple, cooking oil, milk, egg, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon, which provide moisture, binding, and flavor. The batter is combined until smooth then portioned into paper-lined muffin tins.

A topping made from brown sugar, oatmeal, and melted butter is sprinkled on before baking at 375°F for about twenty minutes. This forms a crumbly, sweet crust that contrasts the tender interior. The apple contributes moisture and mild fruit sweetness while the cottage cheese enriches texture and adds subtle tang.

These muffins offer a way to include fruit and dairy in a quick baked good with a balanced texture and warming cinnamon notes. They are appropriate for quick breakfasts or as snacks with tea or coffee.
