Quick tomato chutney sauce for burgers
Description
The Quick tomato chutney sauce combines crushed canned tomatoes with several flavor-enhancing ingredients including Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and a mixture of dry seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, mustard powder, celery salt, kosher salt, and black pepper. These ingredients are simmered gently for about 25 minutes until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon, ensuring a rich, concentrated taste.
The result is a versatile tomato-based chutney with a balance of acidity and sweetness, a touch of smokiness, and subtle spiced notes from the mustard and paprika. Its texture is smooth enough to slather on burgers, yet thick enough to serve as a dipping sauce.
This chutney is best used chilled or at room temperature, spread on burgers for an added tang or spooned as a dip. It can complement various dishes needing a tomato-based sauce with complexity. Leftovers store well refrigerated and can also be frozen for longer preservation.
This recipe tolerates substitutions, such as swapping brown sugar with white sugar or adjusting garlic and onion powders according to taste.Store leftovers in sterilized jars for up to 6 weeks, keep refrigerated for about a week, or freeze for up to 3 months. The sauce’s thickness is achieved through simmering; stir regularly to prevent sticking.Use as a burger spread or dip, cool before use depending on the serving need.
