Rainbow Smoothies

Rainbow Smoothies layer seven colorful smoothies made from combinations of frozen fruit, Greek yogurt, and juices or water, each blended separately. The layers create a visually striking and flavorful blend of natural fruit flavors and creamy yogurt with varied textures. Serving immediately preserves the layers and freshness.

Description

This Rainbow Smoothies recipe features seven distinct smoothie layers, each prepared individually using frozen fruits like banana, raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, spinach, peaches, and strawberries paired with Greek yogurt and liquids such as water, pineapple juice, or orange juice. Each layer has a specific combination of ingredients to produce vibrant hues, from magenta and purple to green and orange.

The preparation involves blending each layer until smooth, adjusting the liquid to achieve the desired consistency without thinning the vibrant colors. The smoothies are stored briefly chilled before carefully layering in glasses to create a rainbow effect. The result is a cold, creamy texture with varied fruit flavors in each distinct layer.

This recipe provides a visually appealing option for healthy breakfasts or snacks where presentation is important. Serving immediately ensures the layers remain separate before blending together in the glass. The use of frozen fruit helps thicken each smoothie and maintain the icy texture.

  1. First, prep the glasses in which you will layer the smoothies, so you have them on hand and set them aside.
  2. Prep 7 bowls, for each smoothie color, and set them aside.
  3. Make the smoothies one by one. Place all the ingredients for a colorful layer in a blender and blend until smooth. Add more liquid if the consistency is too thick.
  4. Transfer the smoothie to one of the prepared bowls, and store it in the fridge. Rinse the blender and prep the next smoothie. Repeat with all the colors.
  5. After that, layer the rainbow smoothie in the prepared glasses, by pouring gently and equally a bit from every bowl into the smoothie glasses.
  6. Serve immediately.
