Ranch 7 Layer Salad

Ranch 7 Layer Salad features a crisp base of iceberg or romaine lettuce layered with peas, diced bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, green onions, and a creamy ranch dressing made with mayonnaise, sour cream, fresh herbs, and seasonings. It is topped with cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon, then chilled overnight to meld flavors. This layered salad offers a variety of textures and a rich, tangy profile suitable for potlucks or side dishes.

Description

Ranch 7 Layer Salad is built on a bed of chopped lettuce, layered with defrosted peas, diced red or yellow bell pepper, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced green onions. This colorful vegetable base is covered with a homemade ranch dressing combining mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic and onion powders, fresh parsley and dill, sugar, salt, and pepper. The salad is finished with shredded cheddar cheese and crispy crumbled bacon on top.

The salad's texture varies from crisp lettuce and fresh vegetables to creamy dressing and rich cheese, complemented by the smoky bacon. Chilling it for several hours or overnight allows the flavors to blend and the dressing to soak in.

This salad pairs well as a refreshing side to barbecue, sandwiches, or casual meals. It can be made ahead to ease mealtime preparation.

Adding cooked ham, turkey, or chicken can transform this salad into a more substantial meal.
