Ranch Mashed Potatoes

Report
Ranch Mashed Potatoes combine red potatoes with minced garlic, ranch seasoning, butter, milk, and salt to create a creamy, flavorful side dish. Leaving the skins on adds texture and color while boiling until fork-tender ensures they mash smoothly. This recipe balances savory ranch spices with buttery richness for a comforting mashed potato variation.

Description

Ranch Mashed Potatoes start with red potatoes that are quartered and boiled with their skins on, offering a hearty texture and retaining nutrients. Once tender, they're mashed together with minced garlic, ranch seasoning, butter, and salt. Milk is gradually added to reach a fluffy and creamy consistency. This method results in mashed potatoes that are smooth yet slightly textured from the skin, with a gentle tang and herbaceous flavor coming from the ranch seasoning and garlic.

The potatoes are best served warm immediately after preparation alongside a variety of main dishes, providing a familiar yet seasonally distinct taste. The ranch seasoning adds a tangy, savory element that sets this mashed potato recipe apart from the classic version.

A note for variations includes substituting heavy whipping cream for milk to add richness and creaminess. Adjust the amount of milk for preferred mash consistency.

  • 2 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 pkg ranch seasoning 1 oz.
  • 1/4 cup butter
