Ranch Ritz Bits

I've taken my favorite cheese stuffed snack crackers and baked them up with ranch seasoning and red pepper flakes! It's a great way to upgrade crackers and they're perfect for munching on during a movie, setting out at a party, or to enjoy with a hot bowl of chili or soup! They also keep well and are great for lunches and snack breaks.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 boxes Ritz Bits cheese crackers 8.8 oz boxes
  • 1 ounce ranch seasoning 1 packet, dried
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, see notes
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with foil.
  2. Add the crackers to a large bowl. Drizzle the oil over the crackers and toss quickly to coat. Pour the ranch seasoning and red pepper flakes (optional) over the crackers and stir again to coat the crackers in the seasoning.
  3. Pour crackers onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking.
  4. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • We like the spice that red pepper flakes add, but you can skip this entirely or just add as much as you like, depending on how spicy you like things. Adding the red pepper flakes makes these similar to our Firecrackers.
  • For a no bake method, follow the instructions but once coated, seal the bowl and leave overnight, tossing gently or stirring every now and then to distribute everything evenly.
  • Cheese Ritz Bits are already a bit salty, so adding ranch seasoning can easily make these too salty. We are always careful to use ranch seasoning and NOT ranch dip mix. The dip mix is much saltier.
  • If you're sensitive to salt, you might consider making our homemade blend of ranch seasoning (listed in the blog post and it's so easy) and cutting down the salt to suit your tastes. You can even leave the salt out entirely!
