Raspberry Mimosa (& Mocktail)
Description
This recipe initiates by sugaring the rims of champagne flutes for a decorative and sweet contrast. Juice is frozen into ice cubes to chill and gradually infuse the drink. Raspberry liqueur provides the base flavor, complemented by the bright acidity of pomegranate or cranberry-raspberry juice ice cubes. Sparkling wine adds effervescence and lightness, creating a bubbly finish. The drink can be customized into a mocktail by omitting the liqueur and using extra juice and sparkling soda. Optional garnishes such as fresh berries enhance appearance and flavor.
The ice cubes not only chill but subtly release concentrated fruit flavor as they melt, balancing the drink’s sweetness and tartness. This beverage offers a lively, sparkling profile with layered berry notes, suitable for festive occasions.
The mocktail adaptation allows the drink to cater to non-drinkers while maintaining a celebratory feel through the sparkling components and sugared rim.
The sugared rim helps counterbalance the bite from the sparkling wine or ginger ale, making the first sip pleasantly sweet and textured. Preparing ice cubes in advance ensures quick assembly.
