Raspberry Mule Cocktail
Description
The Raspberry Mule Cocktail begins by simmering raspberries, sugar, and water to create a flavored simple syrup, which is then strained to remove solids and chilled. This syrup provides a vibrant berry sweetness for the drink. In traditional mule mugs, vodka, lime juice, and raspberry syrup are combined and stirred, then topped with ginger beer over ice.
This cocktail offers a blend of tart raspberry notes with the spicy zing of ginger beer and crisp citrus from lime juice. Fresh raspberries, lime wedges, and sprigs of mint add aroma and visual appeal, enhancing the drinking experience. The drink is ideal as a cooled, fruity cocktail for warm weather or social gatherings.
The recipe can be scaled up for a pitcher and made ahead by mixing syrup, vodka, and lime juice in advance, chilling it, then adding ginger beer and ice before serving. Omission of vodka or use of non-alcoholic vodka substitutes caters to different preferences, increasing versatility.
