Red Apple Cider Sangria
Description
This sangria recipe combines sliced apples and cinnamon sticks with chilled pinot noir, cold apple cider, Grand Marnier liqueur, and pure maple syrup in a pitcher. The ingredients are stirred together and refrigerated for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld. For serving, the glasses are rimmed using a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon applied after rubbing with an orange wedge. The sangria is poured over ice, including some of the fruit, to provide refreshing, spiced mild sweetness with hints of citrus and maple.
The drink balances the richness of pinot noir with the seasonal apple and cinnamon aromatics, making it suitable as a festive or casual cocktail option. The maple syrup adds subtle depth and natural sweetness without overpowering the wine’s characteristics.
Ingredients
- 3 apple sliced
- 4 cinnamon stick
- 1 pinot noir standard 750mL bottle, chilled
- 2 cups apple cider cold
- 1/2 cup Grand Marnier
- 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
for the rim
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 orange wedge
Instructions
- In the bottom of a pitcher, add the apple slices and cinnamon sticks. Pour in the wine, apple cider, grand marnier and maple syrup. Stir to mix. Stick it in the fridge for 30 minutes to bring everything together. (You can leave it in a bit longer if you'd like!)
- To serve, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon on a plate. Rim the glasses with an orange wedge and dip in the cinnamon sugar. Fill the glasses with ice and pour the sangria over top, being sugar to get some of the fruit in there. ENJOY.
