Red White and Blue Charcuterie Board

Report
The Red White and Blue Charcuterie Board arranges meats, cheeses, nuts, fruits, and snacks in a patriotic color scheme grouped by red, white, and blue hues. Featuring cured meats like prosciutto and salami, assorted cheeses including Asiago and mozzarella pearls, berries and fruits, nuts, and sweet treats, this board combines savory and sweet elements. The colorful design is both visually appealing and offers a variety of textures and flavors for sharing.

Description

This charcuterie board is composed by selecting ingredients strictly in red, white, and blue categories, including cured meats like pepperoni and prosciutto for the red section; cheeses such as Asiago slices, white cheddar, and mozzarella pearls for the white; and blue ingredients like blueberries, blackberries, goat cheese, and blue corn tortilla chips. Additional items like yogurt-covered pretzels, spicy almonds, various nuts, and mini marshmallows add textural contrast and flavor variety.

The assembly process starts with a large board, placing dips in small bowls first. Large items such as strawberries, pretzels, and chips follow, then meats and cheeses, some cut or shaped decoratively (for example, star-shaped Asiago slices and pepperoni arranged as roses). Fruits and nuts are placed last. The placement arranges the colors top to bottom as red, white, then blue, with similar items spread over two or three sections around the board to enhance visual balance.

This board is intended to be assembled just before serving for freshness. Prep work such as slicing and portioning can be done ahead and stored separately for convenience. The mix of sweet and savory components suits group sharing for gatherings or celebrations requiring a themed presentation.

Prepare ingredients the night before and store separately to speed up assembly before serving.Assemble the board immediately before serving to maintain freshness and optimal presentation.

Instructions

  1. Start with a large board, using one with edges is easiest.
  2. Place the dips in small serving bowls and place them on the board.
  3. Then add in the large items: strawberries, pretzels and blue corn chips.
  4. Next add in the meat and cheese. We used a star cookie cutter to cut star shapes out of the sliced Asiago cheese.
  5. We make a rose using pepperoni.
  6. Finally add in the fruit and nuts.
  7. When assembling our board, we place all the red items towards the top, the white items in the middle and the blue items towards the bottom to make the red, white and blue design.
  8. We find that it's best not to group all of the same items in one place on the board. We like to group the item in two or three sections around the board for a more appealing look.
  9. Once it's assembled the board is ready to share with your friends and family.

Notes

  • Chop and prepare all ingredients ahead of time and refrigerate separately.
  • Assemble the charcuterie board just prior to serving for best freshness and visual appeal.
