These crispy chickpeas can be eaten alone or used as toppings on salads, soups, bowls, and wraps, adding both texture and protein. They store well in loosely sealed containers at room temperature for up to a week.
Ingredients
- 1 oz can chickpeas 425g
- 1 Tbsp olive oil 15 mL
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 to 2 Tbsps SEASONING see notes
Instructions
- Drain: Drain and rinse chickpeas.
- Dry: Spread chickpeas onto a few layers of paper towels and pat dry (you do not need to remove the skins).
- Stir: Stir chickpeas together with oil and salt.
- Cook: Spread chickpeas in a single layer in your air fryer basket or rack. Cook at 390°F (200°C) for 8 to 12 minutes, or until crispy and lightly browned. Jostle the pan a few times during cooking to help evenly cook the chickpeas.
- Flavor: While chickpeas are still hot from the air fryer, toss them with your desired seasoning, stirring well until seasoning fully coats each chickpea.

Notes
- Optional seasoning blends include Dorito-style with nutritional yeast and spices, ranch with dried herbs, and coconut curry with shredded coconut and curry powder.
