Ritz Cracker Chicken Recipe
Description
The Ritz Cracker Chicken Recipe centers on chicken breasts coated in a mixture of crushed Ritz crackers, garlic salt, and black pepper and baked with butter pieces on top. The method involves dipping the chicken first in whisked eggs and then the seasoned cracker crumbs to create a flavorful crust. Baking at 375 degrees Fahrenheit allows the chicken to cook through while browning the crust and melting the butter, which adds richness and moisture.
This recipe results in chicken with a crisp exterior from the buttery cracker crumbs and a juicy interior from the baking process. It offers a textural contrast without deep frying, using everyday pantry staples. The garlic salt adds a savory note that complements the mild chicken flavor.
Once baked, the chicken is rested briefly to retain juices before serving. The recipe is simple enough for a weeknight meal and pairs well with vegetables or salads. Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven to keep the crust crisp.
Careful timing is important to avoid overcooking; the chicken is done when its internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a food processor for the crackers ensures a fine crumb that adheres evenly, creating a consistent coating.
