Roast Beef Sliders
Description
The recipe uses split Hawaiian rolls as the base, which are layered inside a baking dish with a spread of French onion dip, slices of roast beef, Swiss cheese, and crispy French fried onions. After adding the top halves of the rolls, the sandwiches are brushed liberally with a warm garlic butter mixture, which seeps into the bread as it bakes at 350°F for 15 minutes.
The gentle baking melts the cheese and melds the flavors of onion dip and roast beef, while the fried onions add crunchy texture. The final touch of extra onion dip on top before serving adds flavor contrast and moisture.
As an alternative to prepared garlic butter spread, a simple mixture of melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley can be used to brush the tops. These sliders are ideal for party serving or easy meals and can be cut into portions after baking.
Ingredients
- 16 ounce tub French Onion Dip Dean's brand
- 12 sweet rolls Hawaiian-style
- 1 pound roast beef deli-sliced
- 6 lices swiss cheese
- 1 cup French fried onions
- ½ cup butter melted, with garlic, spread
- poppy seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13-baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
- Using a sharp knife, without separating the rolls, slice them in half. Place the bottom portion inside the prepared baking dish and spread with Dean's French Onion Dip. Top with an even layer of cheese, roast beef, fried onions, and the remaining roll tops.
- In a microwave-safe dish, melt garlic butter spread and brush on the top of the rolls.
- Bake for 15 minutes, remove from the oven and top with additional Dean's French onion dip. Cut sliders and serve.
Notes
- If garlic butter spread is not available, substitute 1/2 cup melted butter mixed with 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley for brushing the rolls.
