Roasted Strawberry Protein Smoothie

Roasted strawberries in this protein packed smoothie brings out their amazing natural flavor, made with creamy cottage cheese and added chia seeds – what a great way to start the day!

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1-1/2 cups strawberry quartered, fresh
  • 1/2 tablespoon raw sugar
  • 1/3 cup cottage cheese reduced fat
  • 1/2 cup milk fat free
  • 1 cup ice crushed
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 6 to 8 liquid stevia optional, drops

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine strawberries and sugar.
  3. Pour the strawberries on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  4. Place in the oven and roast for 12 to 15 minutes until the strawberries start to release their juices but are still firm.
  5. Carefully pour the roasted strawberries and their juice into a blender along with cottage cheese, milk, ice and chia and blend until smooth.
  6. Enjoy!
