Description
The recipe places pretzels in a single layer, topping each with an unwrapped Rolo candy. Brief baking at a moderate temperature melts the chocolate caramel center slightly without losing shape. Immediately pressing on an M&M or pecan adds contrasting texture and flavor and helps the chocolate mold to the topping during cooling.
Once cooled, the treats harden into a glossy, compact bite with the saltiness of the pretzel complementing the sweet, chewy chocolate-caramel and crunchy nut or candy. They are easy to handle and great for gatherings or snacks.
These are best stored at room temperature in an airtight container to maintain texture and freshness without causing the chocolate to bloom or melt further.
Ingredients
- 40 pretzels or Square Pretzels, mini
- 40 Rolo candies
- 40 M&M's or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
- Unwrap the foil paper from the Rolos. Place the pretzels in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Place one Rolo on top of each pretzel, making sure it’s in the center.
- Carefully transfer the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 3 minutes or until the Rolo candies have just started to melt. Keep an eye on them, you don’t want them to melt everywhere. It only takes a few minutes.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and gently press one M&M or pecan on top of each Rolo. Let the Rolo pretzels set up until the chocolate is firm.
Notes
- Store Rolo Pretzels in an airtight container on the counter for up to one week.
