Rose Sangria Recipe
Description
Rose Sangria Recipe highlights a mix of rosé wine with grapefruit juice and bourbon to offer a layered alcoholic base, sweetened with honey and raspberry liqueur (Chambord). The use of fresh watermelon balls and sliced strawberries, together with fresh raspberries added at serving time, provides a range of berry flavors and natural sweetness. Preparation involves stirring the liquids and honey until combined, then chilling the mixture with the fruit to infuse the sangria. This chilled fruit punch has a balance of sweet and tart notes and can be adjusted by adding extra honey or serving over ice to soften strength.
The sangria's texture features the juicy fruits soaking in the wine mixture, giving each glass bursts of fresh fruit alongside the smooth drink. The grapefruit juice adds a subtle tang to the otherwise soft berry sweetness. By serving the raspberries last, the sangria maintains its fresh berry aroma and appearance.
This sangria works as a chilled party drink or a summer gathering refreshment, best served cold after its chill time has allowed the flavors to deepen. Adjusting sweetness with honey or diluting with ice keeps the drink to personal taste.
Ingredients
- 750 ml rosé wine 1 bottle, French
- 1 cup grapefruit juice pink
- 3/4 cup bourbon
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Chambord (raspberry liqueur)
- 2 cups watermelon balls
- 1 1/2 cups strawberry fresh, sliced
- 6 ounces raspberries fresh
Instructions
- Use a melon baller to scoop 2 cups of watermelon balls out of a large slice of fresh watermelon. Slice the strawberries.
- Pour the rosé wine, grapefruit juice, bourbon, honey and Chambord in a large pitcher. Stir until the honey dissolves into the mixture. (If your honey is especially thick, warm it first to thin it out before adding.) Then add the watermelon balls and strawberries. Cover the refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- After at least two hours, stir and taste for sweetness. If you like your sangria on the sweeter side, stir in a little more honey. If the sangria is too strong, plan to pour it over ice. When ready to serve stir in the fresh raspberries and pour into glasses.
