  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1 cup bread crumbs plus ¼ cup for coating
  • cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the salmon, egg, celery, onion, dill, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and 1 cup bread crumbs.
  2. Form the mixture into eight patties.
  3. Dust patties with remaining bread crumbs.
  4. Heat oil to a depth of approximately 1/4-inch in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Fry for about 8-10 minutes, turning as needed, until golden brown.
  6. Remove to paper towels to drain.

Notes

  • Canned pink salmon works well for this recipe, providing convenience without sacrificing flavor.
  • Use peanut, canola, or vegetable oil for frying; avoid olive oil due to its low smoke point.
