Salsa Taquera (Falso Guacamole)

Learn how to make salsa taquera with my incredibly easy recipe! Also known as falso guacamole, it's creamy, spicy, and avocado-free.

Ingredients
- 4-6 tomatillos husks removed
- 1 medium white onion halved
- 10 cloves garlic
- 2 jalapeños stem removed
- 1 serrano chile stem removed
- 1 zucchini halved and quartered
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 1 small bunch cilantro
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
- Place tomatillos, onion, garlic, chiles and zucchini in a dry, large skillet or comal over medium-high heat. Char vegetables and chiles several minutes until brown all over.
- Transfer to blender and let cool for several minutes. Add chicken bouillon cube, cilantro and vegetable oil. Cover and blitz until pureed and smooth. Season to taste.
- This is wonderful warm or chill. Serve with tortilla chips or use as you would any salsa.
