Ingredients

  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 oz. frozen mixed berries
  • 1/2 orange sliced
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • fresh berries to garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the wine, water, berries and sliced orange in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Cover and chill in the refrigerator overnight or 8 hours.
  3. Press the mixture through a sieve and strain out the solids. Squish the berries to release as much juice as possible.
  4. Stir in the orange juice and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Freeze for an hour, then remove from the freezer and stir with a fork.
  6. Continue to freeze stirring every hour or so until it is completely frozen, about 5 hours.
  7. Serve garnished with fresh fruit.
