Savory Chicken Rice
Description
This Savory Chicken Rice recipe combines sautéed rice and garlic in olive oil or butter before simmering it with chicken broth and a blend of seasoning. The process starts by lightly toasting the rice until golden to develop a nutty flavor, then adding garlic to infuse aroma. The mixture simmers covered on low heat until the rice absorbs the broth and becomes tender.
The seasoning includes Better Than Bouillon for concentrated chicken flavor, along with salt, dried minced onion, poultry seasoning, white and black pepper for depth and subtle heat. Fresh parsley as a garnish introduces a fresh herbal note and color contrast to the dish.
This rice is a reliable savory side dish to pair with chicken, vegetables, or other main courses. Its cooking method ensures each grain is tender and flavorful without being mushy.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 garlic minced, cloves
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 tbsp Better Than Bouillon chicken flavor
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. onion dried minced
- 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
- white pepper couple dashes
- black pepper couple grinds, fresh
- 1/2 tbsp. parsley garnish, chopped, fresh
Instructions
- Add oil or butter and rice to a small sauce pan. Sauté on medium to medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring often so the rice doesn't burn. Once the rice starts to turn golden, add garlic, stir for a minute and then add the broth, Better than Bouillon, and spices. Bring to boil, stir, then reduce the heat to low, put the lid on and simmer for 18 minutes. Garnish with parsley. Enjoy!
