Scalloped Corn
Description
Scalloped Corn mixes canned whole kernel and cream-style corn into a rich custard made from eggs, milk, melted butter, salt, and pepper. Crushed saltine or Ritz crackers and shredded cheddar cheese bind and flavor the base. The mixture is poured into a prepared 8x8 pan and baked until set and bubbly.
A topping made from crushed crackers combined with melted butter and shredded cheddar cheese is sprinkled over the casserole before baking, forming a golden, crispy crust that contrasts with the creamy corn custard underneath. The natural sweetness of the corn complements the savory cheese and buttery crumbs.
Ideal served warm, this scalloped corn brings a comforting texture and flavor to complement main dishes. The balance of creamy interior and crunchy topping delivers satisfying variety in every bite.
