Scalloped Sweet Potatoes

Scalloped Sweet Potatoes combine thinly sliced sweet potatoes with a rich garlic-infused cream sauce made from butter, Parmesan, milk, and heavy cream. The layers are baked until tender and topped with melted Colby jack cheese, creating a creamy, cheesy casserole with a subtle sweetness balanced by garlic and seasoning. This dish offers a comforting texture where the tender sweet potato rounds soften in the luscious cheese sauce, making it a fitting side for many meals.

Description

Scalloped Sweet Potatoes brings together thinly sliced sweet potato rounds layered in a creamy, garlicky sauce enhanced with Parmesan, milk, and heavy cream. The addition of Colby jack cheese folded into the sauce provides a smooth, melted topping that complements the naturally sweet flavor of the potatoes. Baking the dish covered then uncovered allows the potatoes to cook through while developing a golden, bubbly cheese crust.

The baked casserole results in a tender and creamy side dish with garlic undertones and a balanced seasoning of salt and pepper. The cheese and flour create a thickened sauce that clings to each slice, giving a soft yet substantial mouthfeel with a mild cheesy finish.

This scalloped potato casserole pairs well with roasted or grilled meats and adds a rich, comforting element to any dinner plate. It can be served warm straight from the oven for best texture and flavor.
