Sesame Ginger Bok Choy

Sesame Ginger Bok Choy is a quickly sautéed vegetable side featuring baby bok choy cooked with garlic, fresh ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. The result is tender and flavorful bok choy with a hint of heat and nuttiness from toasted sesame.

Description

This Sesame Ginger Bok Choy recipe uses baby bok choy separated into white stems and leaves, sautéed first with crushed garlic and minced fresh ginger in vegetable oil until fragrant. A sauce of soy sauce, water, toasted sesame oil, and red pepper flakes is added along with the bok choy whites, cooking briefly until tender but still crisp.

The leaves and sauce are stirred in last and heated until just wilted, preserving their bright texture. The dish finishes with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for texture and nutty aroma. The combination delivers savory, mildly spicy, and toasted flavors that complement the natural crispness and mild earthiness of bok choy.

This stir-fry makes a quick and healthy side that pairs well with rice or noodles and accompanies many Asian-style main dishes. It cooks rapidly and is best served immediately to maintain texture and freshness.

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days and are best reheated gently in a skillet to retain texture and flavor.
