Shake and Bake Keto Pork Chops
Description
Shake and Bake Keto Pork Chops feature center-cut, boneless pork chops breaded with a blend of almond flour, crushed pork rinds, grated Parmesan, and a combination of smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. The chops are dipped in beaten egg before being coated in the seasoned mixture by shaking them in a sealed bag, which ensures an even and crisp crust. Baking begins at 400°F, then the temperature is increased to 450°F to finish cooking and crisping the coating while reaching a safe internal temperature between 145°-150°F. Resting the chops after baking allows juices to redistribute, keeping the meat tender.
The resulting dish has a crunchy, golden exterior with flavorful seasoning from the pork rind and cheese mix, providing a low-carb crust alternative. The smoky and subtle garlic notes enhance the natural flavor of the pork.
This recipe can serve as a main dish paired with vegetables or a salad and is suited for those following ketogenic or low-carbohydrate diets. The steps are simple and mostly hands-off, requiring no frying, just baking.
Ingredients
- 6 pork chops 4 ounces each, center cut, boneless
- 1 egg beaten, whole
- ⅔ cup almond flour
- ½ cup pork rinds crushed
- ½ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Add the almond flour, parmesan cheese, pork rinds, smoked paprika, onion powder and salt to the bowl of a food processor. Mix until finely ground and well combined. Pour them into a sealable large food storage bag and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add in the egg. Dip each pork chop into the egg, allowing the excess egg to drip off.
- Then drop it into the bag, seal it up and shake to coat all sides of the pork chop.
- Remove and set on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and lightly sprayed with olive oil non-stick spray.
- Repeat the process until all the pork chops have been breaded. Lightly spray the tops of the pork chops with the olive oil non-stick spray.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, increase the temperature to 450°F and spray the pork chops again. Continue baking another 10 minutes or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature on a meat thermometer for at least 145°-150°F.
- Allow the pork chops to rest for 10 minutes before cutting into them.
