Shaved Steak Sandwich (Extra Juicy)

The Shaved Steak Sandwich (Extra Juicy) features thinly sliced steak sautéed with caramelized onions and seasoned simply with salt and pepper. Provolone cheese melts over the mixture before being loaded into hoagie rolls. This sandwich combines tender beef with sweet onions and cheese inside a toasted roll, making a juicy, satisfying handheld meal.

Description

This recipe starts by caramelizing sliced onions in oil until golden, bringing out their sweetness. Thin slices of steak are cooked quickly over high heat seasoning only with salt and pepper to retain natural meat flavor and moisture. The caramelized onions are returned to the pan and combined with the steak slices to marry flavors.

Provolone slices melt atop the beef and onion mixture, adding creamy richness. Toasted hoagie rolls provide a crisp and sturdy vessel that contrasts with the tender filling. The sandwich's juicy texture comes from the cooking method preserving the beef's moisture and the melted cheese binding the ingredients.

Serving immediately ensures the cheese remains melted and the sandwich retains its juiciness. This sandwich works well as a filling lunch or casual dinner when a hearty sandwich is desired.
