Sheet Pan Pizza

Sheet Pan Pizza uses a quarter sheet pan to bake a hand-rolled pizza dough topped with pizza sauce, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and fresh basil. The result is a golden crust with melted cheese and juicy tomato slices, finished with bright basil leaves. This style makes pizza preparation manageable and evenly cooked in a home oven.

Description

Sheet Pan Pizza is created by rolling out pizza dough to fit a quarter sheet pan coated with olive oil. The dough is pressed into the oiled pan and brushed with additional olive oil to encourage a crisp and golden bottom crust.

It is topped with a layer of pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes, and chopped fresh basil before baking at a high temperature to achieve a golden crisp crust and bubbly melted cheese. The pizza is baked around 10 to 12 minutes until cooked through and topped with more fresh basil and crushed red pepper flakes if desired.

This pizza method is practical for home cooks wanting a straightforward way to bake pizza without needing specialized pans or stones. The recipe suggests serving it immediately, though leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
