Shrimp Cakes Recipe

These shrimp cakes combine chopped raw shrimp with almond flour, chives, and red pepper to form patties that are pan-fried until golden. The cakes have a delicate texture balanced by a lemony aioli made from mayonnaise, lemon zest, juice, and garlic that adds brightness and moisture. They're cooked in batches in neutral oil for a crisp exterior and tender interior, making them suitable for a savory appetizer or light main dish served with the aioli on the side.

Description

Shrimp Cakes Recipe uses peeled, chopped raw shrimp mixed with almond flour, chives, red pepper, egg, salt, and pepper to create patties ready for pan-frying. The shrimp cakes develop a golden crust when fried in neutral cooking oil over medium heat. Accompanying them is a homemade lemon aioli made by combining mayonnaise with fresh lemon zest, lemon juice, and finely minced garlic, offering a tangy and garlicky complement. This recipe yields 12 patties, ideal for sharing or serving as an appetizer or light meal component.

The mixture is shaped carefully to hold together during frying, and cooking in batches ensures even browning. Serving the shrimp cakes immediately maintains their crispness and tender center. The lemon aioli adds moisture and citrus flavor that balances the savory shrimp cakes. The almond flour provides a grain-free binder that contrasts with the shrimp texture.

These shrimp cakes can be paired with simple sides like salad or steamed vegetables to complete the meal, or served as finger food with aioli for dipping. The combination of fresh herbs and red pepper contributes mild color and flavor accents without overpowering the shrimp.
