Shrimp Taco Bites
Description
Shrimp Taco Bites begin with wonton wrappers brushed with olive oil and baked in a mini muffin tin until golden and crisp, forming small cup-shaped shells. The shrimp are seasoned with a blend of chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, and cumin, then cooked in a hot skillet until lightly pink and firm but still tender. A lime sauce made with sour cream, lime juice, and a splash of milk adds a fresh, acidic component to balance the savory shrimp.
The bites offer a contrast of crunchy shells with soft, flavorful shrimp inside. They can be topped with shredded lettuce, Mexican cheese, or guacamole to add color and texture. This preparation suits casual gatherings or as a flavorful appetizer for guests. The shrimp’s spices give a mildly smoky and aromatic profile typical of taco flavors.
It is best to assemble the bites shortly before serving to preserve the crispness of the wonton shells, as the sauces and garnishes can soften them if left too long.
