Simple Green Salad

The Simple Green Salad combines mixed greens with fresh dill, thinly sliced cucumber, and onion, lightly tossed in a lemon-based dressing featuring olive oil, white vinegar, Dijon mustard, sugar, salt, and black pepper. This salad offers a fresh, crisp texture and a balanced, tangy flavor profile that works well as a light side dish or starter.

Description

This salad brings together several fresh ingredients: a base of butter or red leaf lettuce mixed greens, aromatic chopped dill, thin slices of English cucumber for crispness, and delicate sliced onion (or alternatives like green or sweet white onion). These combine to provide a variety of textures and fresh herbaceous notes.

The dressing is made by shaking olive oil, white vinegar, freshly squeezed lemon juice, Dijon mustard, a touch of sugar, salt, and black pepper until emulsified. This lemon dressing adds a bright, tangy flavor that complements the mild bitterness of the greens and the cool crunch of cucumber.

After combining all components, the salad is tossed lightly to coat evenly and served immediately to maintain the greens’ crispness. It suits as a quick refreshing side or accompaniment to many meals.

Additional ingredients such as thinly sliced radishes or crumbled feta cheese can be added to vary texture and flavor if desired.
