Skinny Garlic Parmesan Fries

These Skinny Garlic Parmesan Fries offer a crisp texture with a mild garlic flavor enhanced by freshly grated Parmesan and parsley. Baking the thinly sliced russet or Yukon Gold potatoes coated in olive oil and garlic creates a lighter alternative to traditional fries. The topping of Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley adds a savory finish that complements the seasoned potato strips well, making them a satisfying side or snack option.

Description

Skinny Garlic Parmesan Fries feature thinly sliced potatoes coated with a mixture of olive oil and crushed garlic, then baked until they achieve a tender yet crisp texture. The fries are seasoned simply with salt and pepper, then finished with fresh grated Parmesan and minced parsley for a savory and slightly herbal topping. Baking on a single layer ensures even cooking and golden edges without deep frying.

The garlic imparts a subtle aroma and taste that is balanced by the rich, nutty Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. The parsley adds a touch of freshness and color to the dish. This preparation results in fries that are flavorful without being heavy, making them suitable as an accompaniment to a main dish or enjoyed as a snack.

To ensure the fries bake evenly and become crisp, it is important to cut the potatoes uniformly and turn them halfway through baking. Using cooking spray on the baking sheet prevents sticking and aids in crisping the fries. Serving them hot preserves their texture and flavor.
