Skirt Steak Marinade

This Skirt Steak Marinade combines balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic, and olive oil to tenderize and flavor the skirt steak. Marinating allows the flavors to penetrate the meat. Grilling or pan-searing the steak achieves a caramelized crust with a juicy interior. The marinade balances acidity and umami, complementing the beef's rich flavor.

Description

The recipe uses a mix of balsamic and apple cider vinegars with soy sauce and garlic to create a marinade both flavorful and tenderizing for skirt steak. The salt and cracked black pepper season the meat, while olive oil helps coat it evenly and maintain moisture during cooking.

After marinating for 30 minutes up to 2 hours, the steak is cooked over medium-high heat, typically on a grill or cast iron pan, allowing the exterior to sear and develop a crust while keeping the inside juicy. Resting the steak for 10 minutes before slicing lets the juices redistribute.

This marinade suits skirt steak well due to the marinade's acidity and seasoning, making it suitable for a flavorful grilled or pan-seared steak dinner. The preparation is straightforward, focusing on letting the marinade impart its character to the beef.
