This recipe places all ingredients—chicken breasts, chipotle peppers, garlic and onion powders, cumin, apple cider vinegar, tomato sauce, brown sugar, and salt—directly into a slow cooker. Cooking low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours allows the chicken to absorb the complex smoky and tangy adobo flavors. Ingredients
- 3 large chicken breast boneless skinless
- 2-4 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce see note
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder

- 1 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to your crockpot/slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
- Minutes before serving, use two forks to shred chicken. Stir the chicken in the sauces inside the slow cooker. Cover and cook another 30 minutes. Serve with cooked rice, veggies, fresh cilantro and diced avocados if desired.
