- 20 minutes before serving, add the ramen. Cover and cook until the ramen is tender.
- Serve in bowls and add your favorite toppings, such as soft-boiled eggs, cilantro, green onions, and jalapenos.
Notes
- If you can't find the boxed ramen noodles, you can use those inexpensive packets from the grocery store—just use three packages and discard the seasoning packets.
- A squirt of Sriracha sauce is my go-to method for adding some spice. Start with a little and add more to taste—you can always add more, but you can't take it away.
- While stew beef is my go-to choice, you could also use chuck roast or brisket.
- If you can’t find birria seasoning packets you can substitute a mixture of: ½ tablespoon chili powder, ¾ teaspoon ground cumin, ¾ teaspoon paprika, ¾ teaspoon oregano, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon pepper.
- You can also just use a packet of taco seasoning, although it won’t taste quite the same.
