This easy and delicious Slow Cooker Cabbage recipe is loaded with meaty goodness from Italian sausage and smoky bacon!

Ingredients
- 1 medium head cabbage shredded
- 12 ounces uncured bacon chopped
- 8 ounces Italian sausage ground
- ¾ cup chicken broth
- ½ yellow onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet to medium and add in the bacon and sausage. Cook until the bacon is crisp and the sausage is browned.
- Add in the onion and sauté for a few minutes until tender.
- Add in the garlic and sauté for 15-20 seconds, then remove from the heat and set aside.
- In the insert of your slow cooker, add in the shredded cabbage.
- Add in the chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, butter, smoked paprika, salt and pepper.
- Pour the bacon, sausage and onion mixture with the fat in the pan over the cabbage and cook on high heat for 3 hours or low for 5-6 hours or until the cabbage is as tender as you like it.
Notes
- I cooked mine for the entire 3 hours and the cabbage was super tender. If you like your's a little more firm, cut the cooking time back to 2-2 ½ hours instead.
