Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe
Description
This Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala uses boneless, skinless chicken thighs coated with a blend of Indian spices including garam masala, cumin, turmeric, and paprika. Placed on top of diced onions and covered with a tomato sauce mixture containing garlic and fresh ginger, the chicken slow cooks to a fall-apart tender texture.
After cooking, the chicken is shredded and stirred into the sauce, enriched with heavy cream to provide a creamy consistency and mellow spice profile. The tomato-based sauce offers a balanced richness complemented by warm spices, suitable for a hearty main dish.
Serving this chicken tikka masala over cooked rice and garnishing it with fresh cilantro adds freshness and rounds out the meal. The slow cooker method permits unattended cooking while developing deep, melded flavors.
