Slow Cooker Chili
Description
Slow Cooker Chili features ground beef browned with diced onions and seasoned with a seasoned salt for initial depth. The mix is combined with chili beans, diced tomatoes containing chili seasonings, diced canned green chiles, chili seasoning packets, and a combination of brown sugar plus optional additional sugar. Tomato juice provides the liquid base. This mixture is cooked slowly in a crockpot for 6 to 8 hours on low or 4 to 5 hours on high, allowing flavors to fully integrate and the beef to become tender. The chili is rich with a moderate sweetness that balances the heat and spices from the chilies and seasoning mix.
The texture is thick and stew-like, suitable for serving with bread, rice, or toppings like cheese and sour cream. This slow cooking method helps reduce active preparation time, making it convenient for busy cooks.
