Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker with cooking spray or a slow cooker liner.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the cake mix, 1 cup of milk, oil, and eggs, then mix until the cake batter is smooth and without clumps.
  3. Add the cake batter to the slow cooker.
  4. In another bowl, mix the pudding with the remaining milk and whisk until smooth and clump-free.
  5. Pour the pudding mix into the slow cooker right in the middle, and do not mix.
  6. Cook on low for 3 hours or until the sides of the cake are spongy.
  7. Serve the cake, scooping up some of the pudding lava and topping it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Use a slow cooker liner or generously grease your slow cooker to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • When pouring in the pudding mixture, keep it as centered as possible.
  • If unsure if your lava cake is done, gently shake the slow cooker. If the edges are set but the center jiggles slightly, it's ready!
  • Try different cake mix flavors, like red velvet, devil's food, or German chocolate. You can also switch up the pudding flavor - try butterscotch, white chocolate, or cheesecake for a fun twist!
