Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 tomato sauce 8 ounces each, canned
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate grated
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoons oregano dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves ground
  • 1 bay leaf
  • For serving:
  • spaghetti cooked
  • cheddar cheese shredded
  • onion chopped
  • red kidney beans

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium high heat.  Break it up as it cooked.  Cook for 5-7 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through.  Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the beef to the crock pot.
  3. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Remove the bay leaf and serve over spaghetti with your desired toppings.  Enjoy!

Notes

  • Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
