Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

This Slow Cooker Pulled Pork is made by browning pork shoulder seasoned with BBQ rub, then slow cooking it in chicken broth until tender. The pork is shredded and combined with BBQ sauce to create a flavorful, easy-to-make dish with tender meat infused with savory and tangy elements.

Description

The recipe starts by seasoning a pork shoulder with salt, pepper, and BBQ rub, then browning it in vegetable oil to develop flavor and color. The pork is transferred to a slow cooker along with chicken broth and cooked on low for 8-10 hours until extremely tender and easy to shred.

Once cooked, the pork is drained of excess liquid and pulled apart using forks into strands. Mixing in BBQ sauce fully coats the shredded pork, giving it moistness and a rich, tangy BBQ flavor that can be homemade or store-bought.

This pulled pork is well-suited for sandwiches, tacos, or served alongside classic BBQ sides. The slow cooking process yields meat that easily pulls apart and soaks up the sauce, creating a satisfying texture and depth of flavor.
