Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes

Report
Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes bring layers of thinly sliced russet potatoes cooked in a creamy mixture of heavy cream, chicken broth, minced garlic, and cheese blend. The slow cooker method yields tender potatoes with melted cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, seasoned simply to complement the creamy texture. This hands-off technique is convenient for developing rich layers without oven use.

Description

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes are prepared by layering peeled and thinly sliced russet potatoes in a slow cooker, interspersed with a blend of heavy cream, chicken broth, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheeses. As the dish cooks on high for three to four hours, the potatoes become tender and absorb the creamy and savory flavors while the cheeses melt into a lightly golden, cohesive topping.

The garlic adds a mild aromatic undertone, and the use of both cheddar and Parmesan cheeses creates a balance of sharpness and nuttiness. Cooking in the slow cooker means the dish is less hands-on, allowing the flavors to meld gradually into the potatoes without constant supervision or stovetop preparation.

It is best served hot immediately after cooking to enjoy the creamy texture at its peak. Optional garnishing with parsley adds a fresh touch of color and mild flavor contrast.
