Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes

Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes feature ground beef simmered with tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings for a hearty filling served on hamburger buns. The slow cooker method melds flavors and tenderizes the meat over several hours, producing a saucy mix that's easy to assemble. Cooked onions add sweetness and texture, making these sandwiches a satisfying choice for casual meals or gatherings.

Description

This recipe uses lean ground beef browned with diced onions, then combined with tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder in a slow cooker. Cooking on low or high heat for several hours allows flavors to unfold and the sauce to thicken slightly. The seasoning balances savory and sweet elements and infuses the meat with classic sloppy joe taste.

Once cooked, the meat mixture is spooned onto hamburger buns to create filling sandwiches. The saucy texture means serving with sturdy buns is best to hold the mixture without excessive sogginess. These sloppy joes suit casual dinners or parties where finger foods are appreciated.
