Small-Batch Matcha Rice Krispie Squares

Small-Batch Matcha Rice Krispie Squares combine marshmallows, butter, and condensed milk melted together with matcha powder then mixed with crisp rice cereal to create chewy, green tea-flavored treats. The squares set firm and can be sliced for convenient snacking.

Description

This recipe melts marshmallows, butter, and sweetened condensed milk in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth and slightly puffed. Matcha powder and vanilla extract are stirred in, infusing the mixture with earthy green tea flavor and aromatic notes. Crisp rice cereal and optional mini marshmallows are folded in and coated evenly by the matcha mixture. The combined mixture is pressed firmly into a small, parchment-lined square pan and allowed to cool and set for about 30 minutes.

Once set, the squares hold their shape and can be cut with a serrated knife. The inclusion of condensed milk adds moisture and chewiness beyond traditional marshmallow treats, while the matcha introduces a subtle, slightly bitter herbal flavor. The crisp rice cereal contributes crunch and contrast in texture.
