Smashed Potatoes Recipe

This Smashed Potatoes recipe uses baby potatoes that are boiled until tender, then gently smashed and seasoned with a blend of paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper before baking to a crisp golden finish. The light brush of olive oil helps achieve a crunchy texture on the outside while keeping the inside soft. The final garnish of parsley adds a fresh note, making these potatoes a flavorful side dish suitable for many meals.

Description

Smashed Potatoes Recipe starts with small baby potatoes cooked in salted boiling water until easily pierced by a knife, ensuring a tender interior. After draining and drying, each potato is gently smashed to increase its surface area, which crisps nicely in the oven. The seasoned paprika and garlic powder mixture coats the potatoes, giving them a savory aroma and a mildly spiced flavor. Baking at 425°F crisps the potatoes for about 20 minutes, turning once to ensure even browning on both sides.

The resulting potatoes have a satisfying contrast of textures: crisp, golden edges with a fluffy, tender center. A sprinkle of chopped parsley after baking brightens the dish and enhances the presentation. These potatoes can complement a range of main courses and are practical for batch preparation as they hold their texture after baking.
