Smoked Baked Beans

Today we’re elevating the classic flavors of baked beans with a smoky twist. Smoking baked beans elevates these flavors to new heights.

Ingredients

  • ½ pound Bacon
  • ¾ Spanish onion large
  • 1 can baked beans B&M brand
  • 1 can butter beans
  • 1 can Kidney Beans
  • 1 can baby lima beans
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder dry
  • teaspoons granulated garlic
  • 1 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Crisp bacon in heavy bottom frying pan.
  2. Once crisp, remove to paper towels.
  3. Add diced onion to bacon grease in frying pan. Saute on low, turning occasionally, until lightly browned.
  4. Drain and rinse butter, kidney and lima beans.
  5. Add all beans to large casserole.
  6. Add onions and chopped, crisp bacon to beans.
  7. Mix vinegar, spices and brown sugar well. Pour over beans. Mix well.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 30-45 minutes, until bubbly.

Notes

  • ** Store leftovers in refrigerator.

  • **Reheat in microwave. Or on stove top in small pot with a bit of water.
  •  
  • ** For an extra large crowd, you can easily add 2 cans of baked beans and keep all of the ingredients in the same quantities.
