  • ½ pound smoked salmon roughly chopped or pulled with forks
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup crème fraîche
  • lemon juice juice of ½ lemon or about 2 tablespoons
  • 4 ounces Jarlsberg cheese shredded
  • ¼ cup green onion sliced
  • ½ red onion small peeled and small diced
  • 2 tablespoons dill chopped, fresh
  • 2 tablespoons caper roughly chopped
  • salt coarse sea salt, cracked, to taste
  • black pepper coarse sea salt, cracked, to taste

Instructions

  1. If you are smoking the salmon yourself, using a fork or spoon, break it up into smaller bite-size pieces.
  2. Next, in a large bowl add in the cream cheese, mayonnaise, crème fraiche, cheese, onions, dill, capers, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Mix using a rubber spatula until completely combined and smooth.
  3. Fold in the pulled smoked salmon and mix until combined.
  4. Serve with assorted crackers, bread, and veggies.

Notes

  • This dip can be prepared up to one day in advance to allow flavors to meld.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to four days or freeze for up to three months; thaw in the fridge and remix before serving if frozen.
  • Sour cream is a suitable substitute for crème fraîche in this recipe.
