Smoked Salmon Mousse Recipe

The Smoked Salmon Mousse blends cream cheese, smoked salmon, fresh lemon juice, and dill into a smooth, spreadable dip. The combination delivers a rich, creamy texture with savory and slightly tangy flavors. Optional garnishes like flying fish roe, capers, or minced red onion add variety in taste and appearance. This mousse can be served on crackers or cucumber rounds.

Description

This recipe combines cream cheese and smoked salmon in a food processor with lemon juice, chopped dill, salt, and pepper, producing a smooth mousse with a balanced tang and fresh herb aroma. The texture is soft and creamy, suitable as a spread or piped garnish using a pastry bag or an alternative piping method. Optional toppings enhance both visual appeal and flavor complexity.

The mousse is versatile as an appetizer or party dip, paired with light crackers or fresh vegetables. The lemon juice brightens the flavor, while dill provides a fresh herbal note that complements the salmon.

It can be prepared a day ahead and chilled to allow flavors to meld. If a piping bag is unavailable, using a sealed plastic bag with a cut tip works as a simple substitute. These options allow for neat presentation whether dolloped or piped.
