Smoked Sweet Potatoes

This smoked sweet potatoes recipe is something totally different. Coated with brown sugar, cinnamon and perfectly-smoked, these sweet potato wedges are to die for!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds sweet potato unpeeled, cut lengthwise into 1 ½-inch wedges, small
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • pinch ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Get out and measure your ingredients.
  2. Combine seasonings and stir until blended.
  3. Coat wedges with oil and then thoroughly with seasoning mix. Reserve 2 teaspoons of seasoning mix to sprinkle on potatoes as soon as removed from smoker.
  4. Place in foil pan in preheated, 200 degree smoker.
  5. Smoke for about 3 hours, until the sweet potatoes were tender when pricked with a fork.
  6. Serve and Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you're smoking your wedges, don't open the smoker until you're ready to check for doneness. You'll keep the heat even and all that smoky goodness inside the smoker.
  • If you have a smoker/grill combo, you can grill these wedges at first to get nice grill marks and then finish them by smoking.
