Sonic Strawberry Limeade

Sonic Strawberry Limeade is a refreshing drink featuring homemade strawberry syrup mixed with Sprite and lime slices. The syrup is made by simmering strawberries with water, then sweetened with sugar to create a bright, fruity base. Combined with lime and soda, this limeade offers a bubbly, sweet, and tangy beverage.

Description

The recipe begins by hull and quartering fresh strawberries, which are boiled and simmered in water for extraction of flavor and color. After straining out solids, sugar is added and the mixture cooked further to set a syrup consistency. This strawberry syrup stores refrigerated for up to two weeks.

To assemble the drink, strawberry syrup is combined with Sprite, providing effervescence and sweetness. Lime slices add brightness and a tart contrast that balances the sweetness of the syrup and soda. Garnishing with a fresh strawberry enhances presentation.

This limeade works well as a cool beverage for warm days, with the strawberry syrup offering natural fruit flavor intensified by cooking. It requires some preparation but results in a flavorful alternative to commercial drinks.
