Sos Ti-Malice

Sauce Ti-Malice (or sos Ti-Malice), is a traditional spicy Haitian sauce that is served hot or warm to accompany various dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ onion , julienned or cut into strips
  • 1 clove garlic , minced
  • 1 shallot , cut into strips
  • ¼ green bell pepper , cut into thin strips
  • ¼ red bell pepper , cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons pikliz vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and shallots and cook, stirring for 2 minutes.
  2. Add peppers, tomato paste, salt, black pepper, pikliz vinegar and lime juice and cook, stirring for 3 minutes.
  3. Add 1 cup of water and bring to boil. Cook for 15 minutes over low to medium heat. Cool.
